We here at Young Philosopher’s Society are dedicated to finding women in the community around us to promote and share their stories during this Women’s Month, amplifying women’s voices and sharing their stories. For today’s voice, we’ve chosen someone who has inspired us here for her quiet but amazing attitude and happy, positive messaging, and today, we are sharing our platform with her, so she may share her story with you.

Inspiration doesn’t always come from those who have climbed the highest peak or run the longest marathon, In fact, a person who has a balance in their own life and consideration for others can also have a great effect on the world around them, more so than any other, and inspire a healthier, calmer lifestyle that is better in the long run. In sharing Yesha’s story, we are sharing the story of someone who has found a rhythm in her life through rigour and balance, one we wish you take to understand the importance of self-care and taking time for yourself.

Yesha Patel is an IB student at an academically rigorous institution in the GTA. She has won many academic awards in French, and Science, and is an honour roll student. She plays an integral role in her school’s science club, in which she ensures the running and facilitation of key processes. Committed to her community, Yesha makes a point to put herself first, curating an academic profile that is impressive, but manageable, as she makes sure to relax and spend time to herself. Smart, talented, well-rounded, and balanced, she preaches the importance of taking time for yourself and prioritizing one’s own self. A champion of mental health, and an advocate against global poverty, pursuing her passions in healthcare, she also works to help and support her family and their business, already working in her father’s pharmacy as an assistant, as she balances her school work and her extra-curricular commitments, all this while also taking the time to smile and brighten the day of those around her.

In sitting down with Yesha, we asked her stories in relation to her experiences as her experience as a woman in her community, the issues she’s had to face, and how she’s overcome them.

Interviewing Yesha, she was really frank and forward with her ideas, well-spoken and clear, she presented her ideas with tact and understanding while demonstrating to us her ideals and values while making connections to her past. Truly remarkable in the way she presents herself, communicating clearly and presenting her key ideas.

You can listen to her ideas in the audio recording listen above, where she talks in detail about her personal journey and her ideas, thoroughly intriguing and thought-provoking, we encourage you to listen to it as she talks about her own journey and how she’s navigated her own journey and the tasks she’s undertaken to help herself. She shares advice on how she navigated her own journey with mental health and how she has grown from it.
